Message from the Exalted Ruler
Winter is here and so are the chilly cold days and nights. I hope you are still out getting around and enjoying the winter weather. I have been trying to get some ice fishing in and hope to have some fish for the Wild Game Feed. On January 9th, we had the Local Hoop Shoot at OFA. Thirty-eight children participated in the contest. I would like to extend my gratitude to Scott Sargent and Mark Henry for Co-Chairing the event. I would also like to thank all the other members that volunteered to assist with the Hoop Shoot. On January 16th, our Lodge hosted the District Hoop Shoot at OFA. Congratulations to Stuart Rishe PER, District Hoop Shoot Chair, for hosting a great event. Again, I would like to thank all the members that assisted PER Rishe with this event. I would also like to congratulate Noah Steele from the 8-9 year old division and Hunter Gray from the 10-11 year old division. Both boys will be advancing to the Regional Hoop Shoot. Dylan Liscum placed 2nd in the boys 12-13 division, great job! The Lodge hosted a Wii Bowling tournament on January 23. Overall it was a great event with six children and twenty-four adults participating. Thanks to Co-Chair members Bob Grady and Kevin LeClair. A special thanks to those members who participated and/or assisted with the event. They are hoping to have additional tournaments in the future. Congratulations to Robbie Downey and Spencer Woodard who won the children’s division. The adult winners were Earl Carter for single division and Kara Callahan and Earl Carter for the doubles division. The Chili Cook-Off was held on January 30th, to benefit the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club. Thank you to Brian Dezell and Jerry Reed, PER, for the fine job they did with organizing the event. There was eight contestants and over 120 people that stopped by the Lodge to taste the chili. Congratulations to Ike Strader who defended his title in the individual category and to Kennedy’s Cookers who took home the Peoples Choice Prize. Whiskey Ridge won the Business division as they were sponsored by Myers Pub. On February 6th, our Lodge will host the Regional Hoop Shoot at OFA gym. Registration will begin at 12 pm and the contest will start at 1 pm. Volunteers are needed for both the event and kitchen help. The Annual Super Bowl party will be held on February 7th. The party will begin at 3 pm and will continue until the game is over. Come and join the fun! The Daytona 500/Wild Game Feed is scheduled for February 14th. The party will begin at 1 pm. There will be a variety of food for you to taste while enjoying the Daytona 500. Dave Price will be in the kitchen cooking fish with his secret recipe in hand. Last years menu had duck, bear, venison, fish, and much more. If you haven’t been to the Lodge in a while, I hope that you will take a day or night and stop by. We are always happy to see old and new members. Fraternally Yours, John Bresett Welcome to Lodge #772's cyber home!We hope you find this a useful source of information.
